We’ll drive. Keep driving. Head out to the middle of nowhere, take that road as far as it takes us. You’ve never been west of Philly, have ya? This is a beautiful country, Monty, it’s beautiful out there, like a different world. Mountains, hills, cows, farms, and white churches. I drove out west with your mother one time, before you was born. Brooklyn to the Pacific in three days. Just enough money for gas, sandwiches, and coffee, but we made it. Every man, woman, and child alive should see the desert one time before they die. Nothin’ at all for miles around. Nothin’ but sand and rocks and cactus and blue sky. Not a soul in sight. No sirens. No car alarms. Nobody honkin’ atcha. No madmen cursin’ or pissin’ in the streets. You find the silence out there, you find the peace. You can find God. So we drive west, keep driving till we find a nice little town. These towns out in the desert, you know why they got there? People wanted to get way from somewhere else. 写不出来就不写了。说起来我办事可真够拖拉的。音频线坏了好几个月我竟然一直忍住没听音乐忍到现在.今天新买的劣质音频线终于到了，于是赶紧library随机放了一把，听到了每次都被我跳过得王菲的旋转木马。想起高中班级告别的时候班主任就放的这首歌。班主任是个三十多岁白白净净的贤妻良母，写字也很工整，教书也很稳健。因为她长得很像tori amos所以我一直觉的她特漂亮。但是现在甚至连她的姓都记不起来了（哦不对，想了一晚上，写到这儿的时候突然记起来了）。我记得有一次开学，我干了什么不得体的事，放学被叫去空无一人的实验室。她也不教训我，我那个时候比较顽劣，教训了也不听（当然现在更甚）。她就跟我聊天，聊我寒假做了什么，爸爸妈妈怎么样。她说你放了个假回来，怎么声音突然大了许多……我当时大概说了句“觉得周围很吵”。那天傍晚，聊着聊着我竟然就泪如雨下了。真是不可思议。毕业之后从来没有回想过这些事情，从来没有把她当成个正经的人物来怀念。现在才觉得，她肚子里得存着多少的爱，才能用些家长里短就把我轻易打败！
贴两张tori老师在strange little girls里的角色扮演，这两个形象和她给我的感觉特别相似。

I’ve fnally decided to write a series of articles on fashion pieces that I (PERSONALLY) covet at various points of time, in the hope of building my wardrobe in a nonrandom fashion. The debut will be attributed to accessories that appear early in the spring catalogue.

1. Romanticizing Shades -

I am never a sunglasses person, which means my search for ideal sunglasses will come to an end once every classic shape is collected and ready to go. Now I’m only one step away, with that one step being cat-eye. However, my heart falls once in a while for those little beauties that no one could resist. These Dolce sunglasses with floral printed frame are a perfect alternative if you, like me, are having a hard time fitting in the general trend of massive/psychedelic prints and think they are tacky. Pair it with any clean and soft outfit, and leave the story to texture and weaving.

2. Invigorating Leopard -

I was talking to Michael in the YSL store the other day about these scarves, when, for the second time in a short time, he got so happy that he wrapped it around his own neck and looked ecstatic…Leopard is reinvented into something neither boring nor prohibitive. The deformation and the bleach give it the right amount of variation and surprise. Not to mention the violet color that pops up tbe everyday palette of black and white.

3. A feminine touch on something masculine -

When my mom asked me what I wanted for new year present I said driving gloves, you can’t go wrong with driving gloves. Now these Vuittons are even cooler with chains and jewels dangling around. She didn’t got those for me in the end, which is good, because I get to keep the sweet hunt to myself.

4. When exotics go fresh and elegant -

One of the charms of the YSL spring/summer 2011 runway collection is that it brings together Sahara and Barcelona, imo. These Baobab platform sandals come in organge and teal; and they are the last to hit stor so I only saw a sample pair. On the side, the giant python wedge is totally wild, but then on top you get something completely refined and delicate. To me there’s another plus: the (architectual) split wedge is an substantial improvement from the previous “Woodstock” sandals which I almost wanted except for their ugly, separate platform with no elevation.

Now I know these will come at a hefty price around $2,000. But nothing seems to attract my attention in the prefall and fall/winter collection. And after that, who knows if we can still survive..

5. Make the trench swing -

In this Fendi trench, I wanted to to do nothing but listen to Jennifer Connelly singing Sway in Dark City. I can see the lady saying goodbye to her beloved one in the rain, or running withouth a destination, in a Jean-Luc Godard movie. It’s not that it’s sad, it’s the comedy, the light weight of the silk and the flaring pleats. It’s the melodrama.

6. In the cold light of morning -

I love translucency. I love the round shoulders, the barely-there collars, the baggy sleeves. I love the feel that everything is brought back to the prenatal stage, when you see the world through a memebrane, not touching or touched by a thing. Like the first few gleams of the sun, like I’m running through a dewy field. How could something feel extraterristrial and organic at the same time? Guess I just love translucency too much looool.

I sat by the pond and watched waves spread and merge. My mind had been perturbed by both the recent disasters and the hedonism sent from the last House episode. I smoked nonstop. I hugged superfically. I talked superficially. Spring is waking up, unresolved love is all around. I recalled the dream across the cornfield, with the old maid and her porridge-making machine. “Seduction – is what you must be aware of.” Then this could all be a seduction of destruction. I sat back, relieved, while still couldn’t help wondering, am I just being inappropriately theatrical.

Anyway, it feels good, in some sense, to be the last generation of human race.

I have a confession to make: I have absolutely no principles in front of beauty. I swore to myself: 1. Never indulge in the pleasure of seeing, touching, and feeling delicacies, 2. never surrender myself to self-organized and powerful construction, 3. never be carried away by fine artistry and excellency, 4. never give away a compliment to any of the above, 5. never throw money into any of the above. Well if you know me too well, you know in what area and to which brand in particular these rules apply. Everything broke down today in a secret display room. I was wow’ed (again) by Stefano Pilati (if this guy is still on the verge of employment) as soon as the sample pieces from the 2011 prefall collection came to sight. They smelled history. They smelled story. They smelled subdual and subversion, order and the outlaws. As the models dressing in super streamlined gowns were walking all over the lobby, I tried almost everything on in the room above. At one point my salesman got so excited that he even jumped into one of the knit sweaters and sought comfort in the fox fur collar (and it sooooo shook my long belief that he was not gay…). Now to cut the crap, here are the strongest points of the collection:

1. The really OVERsized fox fur hoods: literally, they are the size of your upper body. You can burry your head into them or let them dangle on you back like a super furry animal. But really there is no weight. They are attached to minimalistic tanks/vests, creating a surrealist feel – the way it wraps around reminded me of Meret Oppenheimer’s furry cup; while the luster and the movement of the fur was completely modern. An achronism.

2. the subtle embroidery: printed shirts and patterned skirts fill up the market. But in the display room, who would think the tiny little dots in a chiffon blouse, and the graphic pattern on a tulle skirt were actaully made up of stitches! And when sequin is an IT word in current fashion business, they hide it underneath tiles of stripes. It seems as if a sceret stream is underneath, winking and blinking as you move around. A fur vest does a third wonder. The french people has a right to be arrogant, for they can “grow” fur on a knit.

3. The printed blouses: The patterns are borrowed from oil paintings from the orient. that’s why they are called the Opium. Now again there is a contrast, the fine muslin creats an illusion of clouds around your body, while the print brings out the sultry flavor. I wouldn’t say it was as dark or tart as Portishead; it was as hazy as Elbow, while as fluid as Hooverphonic..

4. Then there comes the HIGH fidelity Yves saint laurent part, of which I’m sure there is a cult people out there but I will just excuse myself..

That is pretty much all that kept me hyper the entire afternoon. I ended up ordering a chunky knit sweater coat with fox collar and an ingenius jumpsuit adaptation of the original LeSmoking suit.

Now as the valentine’s day is around the corner, I need to ask, is it just my boredomness or real that I take shopping as a recreation.. especially with a good playmate like Mr. John (Australiano)…This guy, to whom I owe all my gratitute this evening, spoiled me with every piece of sexy dress and leather and fur in the secluded room up on the second floor of Fendi boutique. I seriously miss the time when I played dress-up with Ms. Claire. Now that feeling has striken back only more wildly with Mr. John. He said, the first time I saw you, there’s one word in my head: …captivating. Oh mister, that is one word that lightens up my typical, miserable life as a self-indulgent nerd, especially at this time of year.
